With five natural grass courts, the prestigious Mallorca Open WTA Tennis Tournament brings some of the biggest names in international tennis to the island of Mallorca.

The Mallorca Open WTA Tennis Tournament will be held between 17th and 23rd June this year at the Santa Ponsa Country Club in Calvià. The tournament is one of the most important all-female sporting events in the world, which graces the renowned club’s facilities and is part of the preparatory tournament tour for Wimbledon.
The Mallorca Open is an event that sees the highest level of women’s tennis, since its inauguration in 2016. It is the first tennis tournament on grass that is held in Spain, with the participation of the best tennis players across the globe.
Last year, the tournament saw Victoria Azarenka, Caroline Garcia, Angelique Kleber, Anastasija Sevastova, Carla Suárez Navarro, Shuai Zhang, Annett Kontaveit, Agnieszka Radwanska and many others grace the courts in an incredible and exciting tournament.
During 2018, the event was broadcasted to more than 118 countries and received an astonishing audience of more than 5.3 million viewers. This was thanks to the exciting and electric atmosphere that the tournament brings as well as some of the best tennis to be seen.
Toni Nadal, the uncle and trainer of Rafa Nadal, is the Tournament Director for the event. Rafa Nadal, Mallorca’s very own global sporting hero also usually trains in the adjacent courts in preparation for Wimbledon whilst the competition takes place!
