The epic Long Course Weekend Mallorca is a unique sporting festival which offers an unbeatable atmosphere in an exciting competitive race. Taking place between 26th to 28th October this year, athletes will be able to choose to compete in three disciplines – swimming, cycling and running.
Long Course Weekend Mallorca
This unique festival will take place over three days at the end of October, being the perfect way to finish your season of training in style in Mallorca. Their inclusive format is ideal for clubs, training groups and families, who can come along and enjoy the benefits of training and racing together. Over three days athletes can choose events from three disciplines (swim, bike, run) and multiple distances to create a tailor-made weekend course for every ability.
The spectacular Long Course Weekend events are world-famous for their electric atmosphere and incredible finish lines, making its appearance on the Calendar in Mallorca being something that you certainly cannot miss! Held in the beautiful setting of Alcudia, in the north of Mallorca, the festival provides the perfect opportunity to explore the island’s varied and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Programme of events
To kick-off the weekend on Saturday 26th, athletes can compete in ‘The Swim’, a 3.8km open water swim. If you fancy taking it more easy, The Swim also has has different lengths to enjoy, including a 1.9km, 1.5km and 750m swim, which corresponds with the most popular distances for triathlons.
On Sunday 27th, the attention turns to ‘The Sportive Cycling Race’, 172km of cycling through the undulating countryside, where a shorter length can be also be enjoyed of 86km – a distance to attract athletes of all abilities.
To finish the weekend on Sunday 28th, athletes can complete ‘The Run‘, a 42.2km marathon. There will also be a 21.1km, 10km and 5km run which will allow every sporting ability to be involved.
The collective times for each athlete over the three days will determine who wins the Long Course Weekend, as well as who will take second and third place. For those looking to push their limits there is also the Long Course option, where athletes are required to compete in the longest distance ofeach event. Each Long Course Athlete who finishes will receive the coveted fourth medal for their medal stack.
