Explore Palma
Mallorca’s capital, Palma de Mallorca offers a variety of interesting tourist attractions to visit. From the Royal Palace of Almudaina to the impressive Cathedral, the capital is filled with a wealth of cultural and historical interest. There are also many parks, churches and palaces that you can discover by strolling through the city.
Another great way to discover the capital is by tourist bus. This is an original and fun way to get to know the most emblematic areas of the city, where children will be delighted to get on a double-decker bus with an open roof!
Retail heaven
When it comes to shopping for the children you’ll be spoilt for choice in Mallorca. There are also plethora of unique shops where you can buy everything and anything from souvenirs to gifts. Palma has everything a shopping paradise needs. Trendy neighbourhoods with small boutiques, large retail chains, luxury stores and large shopping malls – with lots of options for children!

Palma shopping is comfortable and easy. You find the main shopping streets in the old town, just above the cathedral, and the centre of Palma. The tree-lined, luxurious Paseo del Borne, one of the most important shopping hubs, offers mainly designer stores and invites you to shop as well as to linger. At the end of the Paseo del Borne there is Avenida de Jaume III which offers a wonderful selection of shops for kids.

Bellver Castle
For families that want to educate their children, why not stop at Bellver Castle. Built in the 14th century by the King, Castell de Bellver is an original and authentic castle located 3km from Palma de Mallorca.
With a gothic style and perfectly circular floor plan, a visit provides breath-taking views across the island, where one can enjoy views of the bay of Palma and the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.

Sanctuary de Sant Salvador
One of inland Mallorca’s most spectacular viewpoints, the hermitage Santuari de Sant Salvador crowns a hilltop 5km southeast of Felanitx and 509m above sea level. Built in 1348, the views from the terrace take in Cabrera, Cap de Formentor and several other hilltop sanctuaries dotted across the plain.
The church, added to over the years, stands on top of the mountain where its current church was built in the early eighteenth century. The small chapel, which is located next to the road before arriving at the sanctuary, was built to remember the place where, according to legend, a pastor discovered the image of the Virgin.

Enjoy Palma’s promenade
The iconic Paseo Marítimo of Palma de Mallorca is located south of the capital. It crosses several districts and reaches a distance of 5.5 kilometres. For this reason it is the ideal place to visit and enjoy with the family as provides endless opportunities for enjoyment. Popular activities you will see along the promenade include cycling and roller skating. Both are great things to do for the family and offers a unique way for both children and parents to keep active.

Sóller train
The wooden train that goes from Palma to Sóller is a fantastic excursion that brings much excitement and interest. The line was built a century ago so that farmers could bring their oranges and lemons to Palma to sell at the market.
The train follows a pretty route through a landscape of pine forests and citrus orchards. Once arrived, you can take the equally wonderful tram down to Port de Sóller for a swim at its family-friendly beach.

Horse Riding
Founded in the port of Pollença in 1964, the Rancho Grande Park makes excursions on horseback throughout the northern area of Mallorca. Here, you can explore the best beaches and landscapes of the island on one of the most beautiful animals in the world. As well as a great restaurant, the venue has a riding school, playground and mini zoo with exotic and native animals.
