The Deià International Music Festival welcomed the acclaimed musicians Mikhail Zemtsov and Alfredo Oyàgüez in the exceptional setting of Son Marroig.
Deià International Music Festival
Taking place on Thursday 30th May this year, the incredible concert was hosted at the Son Marroig Estate. In 2017, the Russian violist Mikhail Zemtsov, son of composer Evgeni Zemtsov, participated in the XLI International Music Festival of Deià.
This year he returned to the festival program to perform with pianist Alfredo Oyàgüez Montero in a concert with works by Shostakovich, Schumann, Schubert and Piazzolla. Every year, the festival is a great showcase of the most prestigious music, bought to the island of Mallorca.
About the Musicians
Mikhail Zemtsov has participated in numerous International Festivals around the world, where he has played recitals and chamber music with the most outstanding musicians.
The talented musician has also won several awards at the 1st International Viola Competition in Vienna and the Elisa Mayer Competition in Hamburg, Germany.
The famous Archduke Ludwig Salvador came to Mallorca in the mid nineteenth century to escape from Viennese court life and immediately fell in love with the island.
The Archduke’s home was at Son Marroig in Deia, which has been turned into a shrine to his memory, with his photographs, paintings and books and a museum devoted to his life.
