About the Capdepera Medieval Fair
From 17th to 19th May, the charming town of Capdepera transports itself to the Middle Ages, with music, costumes and festivities inspired from medieval times. The fair is one of the most attractive events on the island, thanks to its atmosphere in the streets surrounding the castle which is located at the highest part of the village. There are also a wealth of spectacular participants, including traders, craftsman and other characters from the medieval period, where the air is filled by the hypnotic rumble of distant drums.
The market is held to commemorate the founding of Capdepera by King Jaume II in the year 1300 and allows visitors to imagine what life was like at this time. The town’s local residents hang wooden coats of armour from their windows, with the streets being filled with local artisans, carpenters, jugglers, magicians, sculptors and so much more!
The Capdepera Medieval Fair is a fantastic opportunity to acquire artisanal pieces and top-quality local products with a wide range of activities scheduled, including concerts, exhibitions, conferences and open-air shows.
